  • COMPETITIVE SALARY

    Salaries for summer staff positions range from $440/week to $500/week for 16-year-olds and up and from $480 to $560 for 18-year-olds and up, in addition to a $25/week bonus upon completion of work agreement. Housing, meals, limited medical insurance and partial mileage to and from camp are also included.

    You'll share a cabin with other summer staff.

  • time off

    Our entire paid summer staff is off most weekends from late Saturday afternoon to Sunday afternoon, so you can attend church, catch up on laundry, run errands and hang out with your friends. Staff also get staggered time off throughout the week. 

  • community

    You'll do life in a life-giving community of coworkers who will quickly become your friends and biggest cheerleaders. One evening a week, staff meet for a Bible study. It’s a great opportunity to study God’s word with your peers, reconnect and just have fun after a busy week.

    There’s plenty to do around here when you’re not working. The beautiful grounds of Camp Judson cover 160 acres of mountain terrain that border the Black Hills National Forest. Several hiking trails lead out of camp to such popular places as Mount Rushmore, Mount Baldy and Horsethief Lake. There’s also canoeing, kayaking, swimming and fishing.

  • KITCHEN Manager  

    Responsible for overseeing and leading summer kitchen staff, planning menus and ordering food.

  • Hostess

    Supervises dining room procedures during mealtimes. Responsible for clean-up, resetting tables, keeping the dining room clean and filling in in the kitchen as needed.

  • MANAGER'S ASSISTANTS

    Responsible for lawn and grounds care, working camp store, laying campfires, cleaning and other upkeep as assigned by manager.

  • DISHWASHER

    Responsible for washing dishes, cleaning, assisting in the kitchen and other assigned duties.

  • Kitchen Assistants

    Assist with meal prep, serving and cleanup after meals, working in the camp store and other duties.

  • LIFEGUARD

    On duty at the waterfront during swimming and other water activities. Responsible for lake care, grounds and cleaning. Must have a current ARC Lifeguard Training Certificate.

  • CRAFTS DIRECTOR/ PHOTOGRAPHER

    Responsible for directing crafts program, taking pictures and video and compiling weekly camper albums.

  • ROVER

    Fills in wherever needed. The majority of shifts include meal prep and service, but every workweek will include at least one shift each of dishwashing, serving as dining room hostess and outside work. This is an ideal position for someone who pivots well.
